University of Alaska System Eliminates Non-Resident Tuition to Boost Enrollment

The University of Alaska (UA) Board of Regents has voted to expand its 'Alaska Unlocked' initiative, eliminating non-resident tuition for all undergraduate and graduate students starting in the Fall 2027 – Spring 2028 academic year. This systemwide change aims to increase enrollment, provide tuition transparency, and improve retention of out-of-state students.
