Deal sweetener: signing bonus dangled in front of teachers as third strike looms

Public school teachers in Victoria, Australia, have been offered a revised pay and conditions deal, including a $2,000 signing bonus and a 28.3% pay rise over four years, in an effort to prevent a third statewide strike scheduled for August 19. The Australian Education Union's state branch is putting the new offer to its members for a vote, which opened on August 10 and closes on August 17.
