Ohio Governor Announces $2.5 Million for Structured Literacy Centers at Three Universities

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Higher Education, has announced a combined total of $2.5 million in funding for the University of Akron, Bowling Green State University, and Miami University to develop and expand Structured Literacy Centers. These centers will provide specialized training for teachers on the Science of Reading, building on efforts to integrate this method into Ohio classrooms. The University of Akron will receive $1 million, while Bowling Green State University and Miami University will each receive $750,000.
