Massachusetts Awards $20 Million in Early Literacy Tutoring Grants to 338 Schools

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has announced $20 million in state funding for its Early Literacy Tutoring Initiative for the 2026-27 school year. These grants will provide no-cost, high-impact early literacy tutoring to at least 8,485 kindergarten through third-grade students across 338 schools in 102 districts, charter schools, and collaboratives, prioritizing first-grade students with the greatest need.
