University of Michigan to hide first-semester grades on transcripts for incoming students

Starting with the Fall 2027 semester, the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor's College of Literature, Science, and the Arts will no longer display letter grades for students' first-semester courses on their official transcripts. While grades will still be assigned internally and count for honors, only Pass or Fail will be reported, and these grades will not be factored into students' grade point averages.
