Washoe County School District Cancels Classes Due to Hawk Fire in Reno

All Washoe County School District (WCSD) schools, with the exception of Gerlach K-12 School, have canceled classes, events, and activities for Monday, August 24, 2026. The decision was made at the request of public safety officials due to evacuations, impacts on regional public safety resources, and to keep roads clear for emergency vehicles related to the Hawk Fire in Reno.
