University of Houston Cuts 133 Classes from 2026-27 Core Curriculum List

The University of Houston has removed 133 classes from its core curriculum list for the 2026-27 academic year, following a review mandated by Texas Senate Bill 37. While many of the removed courses will still be offered, some professors and students have expressed concerns about the future of these classes and the impact on student enrollment and participation. The university's board of regents unanimously approved a revised list of 147 core curriculum courses.
