U.S. Department of Education Releases Guidance on Federal Student Loan Changes and Reporting Requirements

The U.S. Department of Education has released formal guidance regarding the implementation of new federal student loan requirements, including a 'Schedule of Reductions' for Direct Loan borrowers enrolled less than full-time, effective for the 2026–27 award year. Additionally, guidance was provided on the transition from Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment (FVT/GE) reporting to the new Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS) framework.
