AFT Survey Reveals Teaching Profession in Crisis with High Stress and Financial Strain

A new national survey by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) indicates a crisis in the teaching profession, with nearly two-thirds of K-12 educators reporting high stress levels and 31% likely to leave teaching within the next year. The survey, conducted in August, also found that many teachers work second jobs and spend hundreds of dollars annually on classroom supplies and student food due to rising costs and funding cuts.
