SUNY Chancellor Announces New Programs to Expand Student Emergency Aid and Support Foster Youth

The State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor John B. King Jr. announced new basic needs programs, funded by the 2026-27 state budget, to establish emergency aid grants on all 64 SUNY campuses and provide "college essentials kits" for foster youth and formerly homeless students. This initiative aims to ensure students can afford to remain enrolled and feel supported throughout their academic journey.
