Seattle Teachers Avoid Strike, Reach Tentative Contract Agreement

Seattle Public Schools and the Seattle Education Association reached a tentative three-year contract agreement, averting a strike that would have delayed the start of the school year. The agreement includes nearly 9% in guaranteed salary increases over three years, alongside annual step increases, and provisions for additional counselors, psychologists, and staff support. Classes for Seattle students will begin as scheduled on September 2.
