Texas A&M System Considers Removing Over 200 Courses from Core Offerings, Including LGBTQ and Climate Change Studies

The Texas A&M University System is considering a proposal to remove more than 200 courses, including those on LGBTQ literature, ethnic studies, and climate change, from core degree requirements at 11 of its universities. System regents are scheduled to vote on the measure today, which aims to align core curricula with a new state law (Senate Bill 37) requiring foundational and fundamental courses for civic life and workforce preparation.
