Florida's State University System Bans Undocumented Students from 12 Public Universities

Florida's State University System Board of Governors has voted to prohibit undocumented students from enrolling in the state's 12 public universities, including the University of West Florida. This decision follows a similar move by the Florida Board of Education in June to bar undocumented students from public colleges and GED programs. The new rule will make any person 'unlawfully present in the United States' ineligible for enrollment starting in the 2027-2028 academic year.
