Nation's Special Education Chief Resigns Amid U.S. Department of Education Staff Transfers

Kelly Rogers, the acting assistant secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) at the U.S. Department of Education, has unexpectedly resigned. Her departure coincides with the department's plans to transfer over 100 OSERS staffers to the Department of Health and Human Services, and 57 employees from the Office for Civil Rights to the Department of Justice, as part of interagency agreements.
