Microsoft and Teacher Unions Agree on Binding AI Privacy Standard for U.S. Schools

Microsoft, in collaboration with the American Federation of Teachers and the United Federation of Teachers, has established a legally enforceable AI privacy standard for U.S. schools. This agreement prevents student and educator data from being used to train AI models, prohibits student monitoring, and mandates human oversight in AI-driven decisions. School districts can integrate these protections into their Microsoft contracts starting November 1, enhancing data security and ethical AI use in education.
