WVU Advises Researchers on Federal Foreign Drone Restrictions

West Virginia University has issued new guidance regarding federal restrictions on drones manufactured or assembled by certain foreign entities, including many DJI products. These restrictions, stemming from the National Defense Authorization Act and American Security Drone Act of 2023, prohibit the use of such drones in federally funded research, grants, and cooperative agreements.
