University of Ottawa Contract Teaching Staff Vote in Favor of Strike Action

The Association of Teaching Professors of the University of Ottawa (ATPUO), representing approximately 2,500 contractual teaching staff, announced that its members have overwhelmingly voted in favor of strike action if necessary. The collective agreement expired on August 31, 2025, and the association is seeking improvements to working conditions, including concerns over the university's consideration of creating an unlimited number of intensive teaching positions that could impact ATPUO members.
