U.S. Department of Education Urges Schools to Enhance Civic Literacy and Routine Pledge of Allegiance

In observance of Constitution Day, the U.S. Secretary of Education has issued a letter to education leaders and teachers, calling for strengthened civic learning and routine opportunities for students to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to address a widening gap in civic literacy and declining national pride.
