U.S. Department of Education Extends Student Loan Interest Rate Reduction Initiative Deadline

The U.S. Department of Education has extended the sign-up deadline for its temporary initiative offering a 1% interest rate reduction on federal student loans for borrowers enrolled in auto-pay. Borrowers now have until December 31, 2026, to enroll and receive this benefit, which will last through June 30, 2028.
