Faculty Contract Averts Strike in San Mateo Community College District

A three-year agreement has been ratified, raising faculty salaries by 13% over three academic years, increasing part-time instructor pay to 85% of full-time rates by 2027-28, and adding academic-freedom protections. The agreement, approved by the Board of Trustees on September 9, 2026, and ratified by union members with 97% approval, runs retroactively from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028.
