Industrial Action Affects Irish Higher Education Institutions Amid Pay Negotiations

Higher education institutions across Ireland, including Atlantic Technological University (ATU), are experiencing industrial action related to national pay agreement negotiations. Trade unions, including TUI, SIPTU, UNITE, and FORSA, have notified ATU of planned strike action on October 14 and 21, 2026, which will lead to the cancellation of teaching activities and closure of student support services on those dates.
