New York Adopts Federal Scholarship Tax Credit Program

Governor Kathy Hochul announced New York will participate in the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit program, becoming the 31st state and second Democratic-led state to do so. This initiative allows tax-deductible contributions to scholarship organizations, funding private school tuition or public education expenses. Teachers' unions oppose the move, arguing it could undermine public education funding.
