New York Expands College Application Fee Waivers for High School Seniors
Governor Kathy Hochul announced that over 130 New York colleges and universities are waiving application fees for high school seniors through the 2026 College Application Initiative. Expanded to run through October and November, this program provides more time and support for students, particularly those from low-income and first-generation backgrounds, to apply to college. Last year, the initiative saved students over $15 million, significantly reducing financial barriers to higher education.
