MacKenzie Scott Donates $42 Million to Boost Low-Income Student College Success

Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has made an unrestricted $42 million donation to 10,000 Degrees, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting students from low-income backgrounds. This substantial gift, the largest in the organization's history, will enable a new five-year strategic plan aimed at doubling the number of students served annually, enhancing community college transfer rates, and increasing bachelor's degree attainment for transfer students by 2031.
