Lecturers to protest in Nairobi as strike deepens

University lecturers in Nairobi are set to hold a street protest on Thursday, October 15, 2026, as their strike, which began on October 2, continues. The Universities Academic Staff Union (Uasu) rejected a Sh12 billion counter-offer from the government and is demanding the full implementation of the 2025–2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
