Minnesota Republicans urge Governor Walz to join federal education tax credit program

Minnesota Congressional Republicans, led by Congressman Brad Finstad, have sent a letter to Governor Walz, advocating for the state's participation in the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC). The EFTC, set to begin January 1, 2027, offers federal tax credits for donations to Scholarship Granting Organizations supporting K-12 educational expenses. Thirty-one states have already committed to participating in the program.
