Teachers' Union Sues Trump Administration Over Student Loan Forgiveness

The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and nine student loan borrowers have filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Education and Secretary Linda McMahon. The lawsuit alleges that the department is withholding or delaying Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) "Buyback" determinations, failing to credit time worked in public service, and clawing back time it had already credited. The union is seeking class action certification, claiming delays affect tens of thousands of public servants.
