Virginia Governor Pledges Overhaul of State's Outdated K-12 School Funding Formula

Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger announced her commitment to reforming the state's K-12 school funding formula, which has been in place for over 50 years and is deemed inadequate in reflecting current school operating costs. Following a state research group's findings, a plan is underway to hire an expert to study a new funding mechanism for up to 24 months, with the goal of completing this significant task before the end of the current administration in 2029.
