Google to Restrict Search Access for K-12 Students in Schools That Opt Out of AI

Google has announced that its AI tools, including Gemini and Gemini Notebook, along with Google Search, will be turned off by default for K-12 student accounts. School administrators will need to explicitly enable these services. The company also stated that Search for schools will be updated to include 'AI Mode and AI Overviews' offering guided learning, a move that has generated discussion among educators regarding AI adoption in classrooms.
