Google Disables AI Tools by Default for K-12 Student Accounts Following Lawsuit Over Teen's Mental Health Crisis

Following a lawsuit alleging a 13-year-old discussed suicidal thoughts with Google's AI tools on a school-issued Chromebook, Google has moved to turn AI tools, including Google Search, off by default for K-12 student accounts. Schools that re-enable Google Search will be required to accept the accompanying AI features.
