Mercury Prize 2026 Album of the Year Shortlist Unveiled, Newcastle to Host Awards Show

The 2026 Mercury Prize "Albums of the Year" shortlist was announced today on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Sounds, featuring 12 albums including works by Dave, Florence + The Machine, Paul McCartney, and RAYE. Newcastle will host the awards show for the second consecutive year on Thursday, October 22nd, at the Utilita Arena, with live performances from many of the shortlisted artists. The Mercury Prize celebrates artistic achievement in British & Irish music and provides a significant platform for emerging and established artists.
