Disney CEO Admits 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' and 'Moana' Underperformed at Box Office

Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro acknowledged that "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu" and the live-action "Moana" remake both underperformed at the box office this summer. "The Mandalorian and Grogu" earned $345 million worldwide, while "Moana" garnered $262 million worldwide against a reported $250 million production budget. Despite the theatrical underperformance, D'Amaro stated that investments in these properties fueled other parts of the company, such as merchandise sales and theme park attendance.
