Egyptian Short Film 'Khufu' Selected for Locarno Film Festival

Egyptian filmmaker Mahmoud Assi's short film "Khufu" has been selected for the Pardi di Domani (Leopards of Tomorrow) International Competition at the 79th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. The festival is running from August 5 to 15, 2026. "Khufu" centers on a 14-year-old boy named Sayed navigating family and economic pressures in Nazlet El-Semman, on the outskirts of the Giza Pyramids.
