California Attorney General Xavier Becerra has urged the state to settle the antitrust lawsuit blocking the Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger, expressing concern over the potential economic impact if Paramount moves its operations out of California. Paramount executive David Ellison has reportedly confirmed a contingency plan to relocate the company's operations if a settlement is not reached by October 1, 2026. The lawsuit, also supported by 11 other states, seeks to prevent the $110 billion USD merger due to concerns over market power in theatrical film distribution and basic cable markets.
