Restored Indian Classics Gain International Acclaim at Venice and Toronto Film Festivals
Indian cinema is experiencing a notable moment as restored classic films receive significant international recognition at major festivals. Dev Benegal's "English, August" (1994) has been selected for Venice Classics, while John Abraham's "Amma Ariyan" (1986) will be screened in the Toronto International Film Festival's Toronto Classics section. This marks the first time restored Indian films have been featured at all top four international film festivals: Cannes, Venice, Berlin, and Toronto.
