Music giants Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music have filed a lawsuit against AI company Anthropic, accusing them of "blatant ongoing thefts of intellectual property" to train their Claude AI models. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, seeks $150,000 in damages per work and $25,000 per copyright violation, potentially totaling billions of dollars for thousands of alleged stolen titles.
