May el-Toukhy's 'Woman Unknown' Wins Golden Lion at 83rd Venice Film Festival

May el-Toukhy's Danish-Swedish-Latvian co-production "Woman Unknown" was awarded the prestigious Golden Lion for Best Film at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. The festival concluded on September 12, 2026, with the winners announced on September 13. Mathilde Arcel also received the Coppa Volpi for Best Actress for her role in "Woman Unknown," while John Malkovich won Best Actor for his performance in "Wild Horse Nine."
