Warner Music Group and Sony Music Sue Anthropic's Claude AI Over Copyright Infringement

Warner Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment have filed a lawsuit against artificial intelligence company Anthropic, creator of the Claude AI, alleging the piracy of thousands of copyrighted songs. The music labels claim Anthropic illegally torrented, scraped, and downloaded compositions on a massive scale to train its AI models. They are seeking up to $150,000 per infringed work, potentially amounting to billions in compensation.
