The 83rd Venice International Film Festival has announced its official award winners, with May el-Toukhy's “Woman Unknown” taking home the prestigious Golden Lion for best film. This marks a significant achievement for the Danish Egyptian filmmaker, as her third feature was the sole film by a female director in the Golden Lion competition. Lee Chang-dong's “Ga-Neung-Han Sa-Rang (Possible Love)” was awarded the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize.
