Mohammad Rasoulof and O Mipo to be Honored with Kurosawa Akira Award at 39th Tokyo International Film Festival 2026

Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof and director O Mipo will be awarded the Kurosawa Akira Award at the 39th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF). The award recognizes their profound explorations of the human condition and significant contributions to cinema. Rasoulof won the Golden Bear at Berlin in 2020 and the Special Jury Prize at Cannes in 2024, while O Mipo has been recognized for her directorial work at various international festivals.
