Independent Music Publishers Set Out Seven Principles for AI Licensing

IMPEL and IMPF, two independent music publishing organizations, have jointly published a licensing framework outlining seven principles for generative AI. The framework's central demand is that the song be properly valued, at least equally with the recording, in AI licensing deals. This initiative aims to protect songwriters' rights amidst the rise of AI-generated music.
