Indian film 'Angh' enters 2027 Oscars race with Toronto International Film Festival Platform Prize

The debut feature film "Angh" by Naga filmmaker Theja Rio has made history by winning the Platform Prize at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, automatically qualifying it for consideration in the Best International Feature Film category at the 2027 Academy Awards. This marks the first time an Indian film has won this prestigious award, bringing international attention to Nagaland, a region rarely depicted on screen.
