Video Game Developer BioWare Shuts Down, Next 'Mass Effect' Canceled Amid EA Layoffs

Electronic Arts (EA) has announced the closure of BioWare, the influential game development studio known for titles like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, after more than three decades. This decision also leads to the cancellation of the upcoming fifth Mass Effect game. The shutdown is part of broader layoffs at EA, impacting approximately 400 employees, with about 50 from BioWare.
