Oscars Revise Eligibility Rules for Best International Feature Film Category

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has updated its eligibility rules for the Best International Feature Film category, granting automatic entry to films that win the top prize at six major international festivals: Venice, Berlin, Busan, Cannes, Sundance, and Toronto. This change aims to ensure broader global representation in the category and provide increased visibility for award-winning international cinema. The Academy also announced that the Oscars ceremony will be streamed on YouTube in over thirty languages starting in 2029.
