Academy Awards Updates Rules, Bars AI-Generated Films and Allows Multiple Acting Nominations

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced significant rule changes for the 99th Oscars, formally prohibiting AI-generated performances and screenplays from contention for films released in 2026. Additionally, actors may now receive multiple nominations in the same category if their performances rank among the top five votes. These updates aim to emphasize human creativity and expand recognition for exceptional acting achievements.
