Foreign Direct Investment in US Totaled $232.2 Billion in 2025, Up 49.5% from 2024

Preliminary statistics from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis show that expenditures by foreign direct investors to acquire, establish, or expand U.S. businesses reached $232.2 billion in 2025, marking a 49.5 percent increase from 2024 levels. Acquisitions of existing U.S. businesses constituted the majority of these expenditures.
