Eurozone Current Account Surplus Increases in April
The euro area recorded an increase in its current account surplus, reaching €16 billion in April 2026, up from €15 billion in the preceding month. However, the cumulative surplus over the past 12 months decreased to €269 billion, representing 1.7% of the euro area's GDP. This marks a reduction from the €351 billion, or 2.3% of GDP, observed a year earlier.
