UNEP and Bloomberg Philanthropies Partner to Combat Global Methane Leaks

The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and Bloomberg Philanthropies have announced a joint initiative to significantly reduce major methane leaks worldwide. Their goal is to achieve an 80% response rate to detected methane emissions by 2030, ensuring investigation and mitigation. This effort aligns with the UN Secretary-General's call for urgent action on methane, particularly in the fossil fuel sector, which is seen as a cost-effective opportunity for emission cuts.
