EU Finance Committee Approves Position on Digital Euro Bill

The European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON) has approved its position on the proposed digital euro, providing a further boost to the European Central Bank's (ECB) long-anticipated central bank digital currency (CBDC) initiative. The ECON adopted its stance on the single currency package, which includes establishing the digital euro, by a vote of 43 to 14, with one abstention.
