Cenbank launches surprise inspections at banks over savings certificate complaints.

Bangladesh Bank has initiated surprise inspections at branches of 40 commercial banks nationwide. These inspections, conducted by the central bank's Debt Management Department today (June 28) and tomorrow, are in response to allegations that banks are discouraging customers from purchasing government savings certificates. The central bank had previously instructed all scheduled banks to continue selling savings certificates and address related customer complaints.
